[2012-05-01 06:23:24] GameDocumentaries - i respect your ...i respect your opinion about the gameplay, even though i disagree. your explanation regarding the reviews is taken out of thin air though. reviews are point based and thus standardized. gameplay is a key factor there. it is always taken into account. seeing that the games hover around an aggregated 90% mark, it's pretty obvious you're in the minority on this one (and a massive one too). even the lowest rating for ME i found called the gameplay a mixed bag, which is worlds above being "rubbish"

Alpha Protocol. The gameplay there was really really wonky, but some people still loved the game for its story and setting. Maybe you just get easily impressed with gameplay? idk..

No one mentions the gameplay in intensely story driven games, cause the people who love those games usually don't care that much about the gameplay. The same way people who love books never really care about the stock of the paper. I mean the gameplay was serviceable, at best. It felt really stiff, there were WAY too few abilities or flexibility to keep the gameplay fresh. I know many who agree.

I don't mind if the story is there, but in recent years there has been more emphasis on story than on actual gameplay. Mass Effect is a good example. Absolutely RUBBISH gameplay, and judging by what other say, wonderful story (generic sci-fi, not my thing.) As I said, though, don't mind if it's there, just don't let game mechanics suffer.

I myself don't give shit about graphics. I'm more into what the game has to give to me. Games today are way too easy. 'Till this day I haven't been able to finish Battletoads. :D
