Thank you. And even though their name is on it you don't really notice it that much.

I rather SIIG DIDN'T put their name on the front, but good review.

Sorry for the confusion. I should have showed the cable better. As most motherboard still only had external 3.0 connectors when this item was release it was designed to go around the back of the motherboard and plug in external much like the front panel 3.0 connectors that many new cases use. So it is a standard 3.0 male connector on the cable so if you have a internal card with that type of connector you will be in good shape

Good review but I wish you would have shown the cable they provide up close so we could check port compatability. Seems like from what I can see that it uses what would typically be an external USB port connector for an internal product. My motherboard, luckily has both kinds of ports internally. Anyway, it would be great to have some confirmation of that. It would also be nice to see what this looks like installed on a case. Anyway, nice review.

First off thank you very much. The cable is about 3 feet long so it should reach to the back of the case. They do make some add on cards that have the connector internally and also some that have a external and internal connection I know that Siig makes them both. Look at the usb 3.0 section on their website, If you cant find them let me know I will get the links for you.

[2010-10-26 05:00:51] Xaizan101 - ... I asked ...

... I asked because it kinda looks awkward on the tower having a cable coming out of the back then having it plugged on one of the USB 3.0 sockets.

[2010-10-26 04:59:28] Xaizan101 - Nice review! Glad ...

Nice review! Glad you reviewed this product since not a lot of people do. Just one question though. I know this USB 3.0 addon requires a motherboard with a built-in USB 3.0 already or a USB 3.0 pci-e card to plug to for it to work... so how long is the cable included? I just want to make sure it reaches all the way back while still maintaining good cable management. Also do you know of any pci-e usb 3.0 cards that has the usb sockets internally instead of external? ... to be cont.

[2010-10-11 23:48:09] FUzzyBUnnyBOoties - Thank you. You are ...

Thank you. You are too kind :-). Yes I think it would be a great add on for anyone even if they don`t have USB 3.0 yet. They will be able to use it in their new computer when they get one.

[2010-10-11 11:55:08] PGTMan - Looks like another ...

Looks like another superb product. I like the fact that you can use with USB 2.0 (and even 1.1) and, given the 3 1/2 and 5 1/4 drive bay options it seems really versatile. Nice vid Fuz!

They do make a PCIe 1X add on card that will add USB 3.0 to any motherboard with a PCIe 1x slot. If you look through my older Product Showcase videos you will see a video that I did on it a couple months ago. It was from Siig also.

[2010-10-07 19:37:12] neonzion7 - yeah thats wat i ...

yeah thats wat i was thinking... but its a little impossible since usb2 is too slow, motherboards without usb3 would not support it,.... they need to make a pcie card like u said. or pci card... an expansion card that supports usb3... im surprised they dont have that yet!

[2010-10-07 18:47:04] rmb1993 - aww I thought this ...

aww I thought this was for the motherboards that don't already have usb 3.0. They need to make a version of this that also includes a pci-e card so you can add 3.0 to motherboards that don't have them.
