And what if the driver is not even watching the road? This is completely pointless when you can easily just install a sensor in front of the car that will apply the brakes if something or someone comes too close. It can even be calibrated to increase or decrease the field of detection in relation to the speed of the car. If you're travelling at 30 km/h then the car will brake when something comes within 10 yards. If you're travelling at 5 km/h then the range is maybe 2 yards.
