Also, java is the most commonly used programming language and as such it seems like you should learn it in a CSCI class.

Under previous projects I've worked in SDL, OpenGL, Allegro, ENet, under C\C++. Under C# I've worked with XNA 4.0, as well as using the .NET Framework for creating a Win32 application. If statements, while loops, for loops, integers, floating point variables, booleans, I know what they are. Just because I'm 16, doesn't make me an idiot.
