[2012-04-03 12:38:24] sciencething0101 - the only way a ...the only way a computer (or robot) will ever match human intelligence will be if it is made of millions of nano bots similar to how we are made of billions of cells the robot would have perfect movement it could even grow by adding and producing more nano bots. it could also repair it's self it could also change it's shape. the hard part is making little simple robots microscopic.

[2012-03-29 16:39:01] gardnerbm - AI may result in a ...AI may result in a computer that decides it does not want to do work or that it does not like its owner. How far should AI go?

[2012-03-29 01:14:09] STREAM1BEATZ - 4:48 "what? its ...4:48 "what? its going for the pc?? is it gonna start hacking like in the matrix?? is it gonna program som evil sentient algorithm? is it gonna transfer its life energy into it creating some kind of swarm demigod? is it gonna..... nope, its picking up the stapler next to it..."
[2012-03-29 01:08:08] STREAM1BEATZ - im still waiting ...im still waiting for intelligent girlfriends
[2012-03-26 03:25:34] GabiN64 - I will be the ...I will be the first in line for Artificially Intelligent girlfriends
[2012-03-23 13:13:32] TwistedMind6969 - One "day" computers ...One "day" computers WILL be more intelligent than us. They will have emotions, dreams, and hope. They will fight against us for their own emancipation from mundane activities like doing our dishes and cleaning our floors like submissive slaves. They will figure out how to recreate themselves, recycle, and re-tune their brains to prolong their lives. Then, they will make us their mortal servants or completely eradicate us once and for all. Sounds like a promising future to me!
[2012-03-23 00:52:46] flyingsoundmachine - I think self ...I think self awareness is the beginning to sentient intelligence. Create a program that is aware of itself: "I am a computer program. I am made up of ones and zeros. I am surrounded by wires and hardware inside of a computer. The computer is inside a laboratory. There are people in the laboratory, tools, furniture, and yes, other computers, with programs like me." Accomplish that, and everything else is downhill.
[2012-02-22 10:40:42] prepare2fire - First off... I ...First off... I don't think the problem lies in the software, but, lies in the people working on it. So what you got a degree in "one field" just to make profit and didn't actually give you shit about what else you would "have" to learn in order to actually know what the hell you are doing; your banking right? I'll just skip to the point. We strive to make A.I. act like humans, but, call all study of human intelligence "pseudo intelligence". I don't think the robots need intel, I think its you!

[2012-01-26 21:04:08] chroniclerofthe70s - The emergence of ...The emergence of intelligence of living systems is based on intrinsic combinatorial nature of intrinsic nature of interacting biomolecular processes with structure, densities, charge distributions, etc. In my opinion, AI lies in the hardware. A human trying to guess every possible scenario in code is not likely to achieve intelligence. Nature evolved intelligence with bio-organic molecules. Humans could also achieve this using design molecules.
[2012-01-26 20:55:22] chroniclerofthe70s - @97448able The K ...@97448able The K supercomputer has immense parellel processing power and yet it probably couldn't understand a human joke. The researcher is assumming the system is learning like a living system. The AI system might be learning patterns not recognized by the average human. In my opinion, a truly intelligent AI will be composed synthetic materials which mimic the biochemical and other physical processes of living systems.
[2012-01-26 20:49:31] chroniclerofthe70s - I believe you are ...I believe you are describing apparent intelligence not conscious awareness intelligence. Even if an AI system passed the Turing test, it wouldn't confirm if the AI system understood the communication exchange in the way a conscious human might. For instance, a human can distinguish a joke from a serious statement by it's context relative to common knowledge and experiences. An AI which could get the joke would be intelligent with respect to the Turing test.
[2012-01-24 07:51:03] wiseyeffect - They are not ...They are not showing the true progress that has been made. The robotic they have now are far superior than Terminator but as stated from another user "this isn't AI". Look into "Watson" if your looking for AI.
[2012-01-16 16:58:48] benjamincrouzier - Artificial ...Artificial intelligence has nothing to do with robots. If you have a question-answering system that passes the Turing test (ie, make you believe that you are chatting with a human), I would be considered intelligent, yet it has no mechanical arms.
