That's not Windows 8. I have Windows 8 right now, Your corners are curved on the GUI mine are squared. ;)

wtf is that "windows 8" in the title??? do you see any windows 8 in the video?????

[2012-03-21 13:09:42] DJGPR2 - 61 people still ...

61 people still make some cup of coffees till movie transfers complete....

[2012-01-02 21:55:40] coolbuddydude1 - Kind of meaningless ...

Kind of meaningless if the hard drives read and write speeds are much slower

[2011-11-26 04:06:20] 0oDarkLordRevano0 - Thunderbolt is ...

Thunderbolt is theoretically twice as gay as USB 3.0

[2011-10-15 13:51:11] hutjeflut - id love for my 8 TB ...

id love for my 8 TB of hd space to to UWB# instead of USB 2 but as long as these darn company's cheap out and keep making USB 2 rubbish usb 3 is gonna stay freaking expencive just because the few company's that do make them take advantage showing the true greed of company's are these days. these company's need a kick in the balls or this is a useless feature.. maby MS should start selling cheap USB 3 hard drives and USB sticks. ill buy a few if they are 10 euro more then WD devices.

[2011-10-08 00:11:56] linuxdude1 - Linux has had USB 3 ...

Linux has had USB 3 support for two years.

[2011-09-26 23:34:47] crazyfreshman - @JungleBoyT: Most ...

@JungleBoyT: Most people don't know they have a choice in OS, and I'd wager most people haven't even thought about whether or not they should. What does being a "techie" mean or have anything to do with this thread? As for the support, whose support do you mean? Canonical's? Red Hat's? Novell's? IBM's? Community support? Did you have a bad experience while asking for support before?

[2011-09-26 16:01:08] JungleBoyT - Actually, twenty ...

Actually, twenty years ago, most kids didnt have computers and adults were asking me, "what's that switch again? "-oh"?

[2011-09-26 15:59:13] JungleBoyT - LOL, get with the ...

LOL, get with the times? You're forgetting MOST people are not techies....GNU/LINUX? How good is their support for non-IT end-users again?

i cant tell if this is a joke or not

[2011-09-20 22:28:00] arxidamos13 - can't you have USB ...

can't you have USB 3.0 in win7?

[2011-09-17 03:16:04] crazyfreshman - Yes. The Linux ...

Yes. The Linux kernel received support for USB3.0 before any other OS, and by several months, or over a year, if you're talking mainstream support (easily verifiable). You deduce that nineteen people didn't know something because they like a comment. Interesting. Maybe they happen to prefer GNU/Linux to Microsoft Windows and like to share in its strengths.

[2011-09-16 23:54:22] jogibajr - So GNU/Linux has ...

So GNU/Linux has had USB3.0 support for almost a year now ? I have been using USB 3.0 devices on my Windows 7 6-core PC with Coolermaster HAF 942 case for over a year plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports on the front panel. I see 19 people didn't have a clue about that.

[2011-09-15 07:17:48] daikiryoku - 20 years ago ...

20 years ago parents were saying the same thing

[2011-09-14 03:17:01] Christobanistan - True. I get only ...

True. I get only about 50 MB/s on my W7 PC with a USB 3.0 card/drive. That's copying FROM a solid state drive (which is insanely, impossibly, mind bendingly fast) TO the USB 3.0 drive...

[2011-09-14 03:14:32] Christobanistan - Windows 7 has USB ...

Windows 7 has USB support already, for a long time. Of course you have to have the driver, as with any new hardware. I have been using a USB 3.0 drive w/ my USB 3.0 card since the beginning of this year. This video is just a marketing thing. They're probably just including a 'standard' driver with the OS.

[2011-09-14 03:10:58] Christobanistan - You can buy a USB ...

You can buy a USB 3.0 card now. Works fine on Windows Vista or 7.

[2011-09-13 22:20:06] FreekyMage - my usb3 is working ...

my usb3 is working fine in win7, you just need a driver for it now and in win8 you wont

[2011-09-13 17:33:32] neon32 - The title should ...

The title should read "This is a lie, 2% of people will get performance like this in Windows 8".

[2011-09-13 17:29:11] neon32 - It's only because ...

It's only because your using a blinkin' SSD that its that quick.

[2011-09-12 19:49:58] jeffreyparke - let's not forget ...

let's not forget bsd as well.

[2011-09-11 17:00:32] firexblast - It's still a ...

It's still a feature, right ? Feature for windows platform. You can't compare a OS like windows, that takes long to release and is expensive (this prevents a lot of versions being released soon), while Linux is always renewed and updated very fast with improvements. Apart from that, Windows 7 still have usb 3 support, right ? You just need to get astermarket software from the manufacturer. It's just getting improved in windows 8.

[2011-09-11 14:56:46] reaperai333 - i got thunderbolt

i got thunderbolt

[2011-09-08 08:10:58] KillamonjarowX123 - Yeah, I thought ...

Yeah, I thought you were joking at first, but I wasn't sure.

[2011-09-08 06:56:21] dlujan28 - See that little ...

See that little winky face at the end of my comment? It signals I was joking. Call it whatever the hell you want. Sheesh!

[2011-09-07 08:46:04] KillamonjarowX123 - Huh? I will still ...

Huh? I will still call it a loading bar. I bet you have things you name differently than the rest of the English speaking world, after all English is how you make it, Americans showed that when they changed the English language to include such things as;Pacifier (what a horrible name for a babies toy.)Gas, Flashlight, etc. Some sound better than the original English some sound worse. To me "Loading Bar" sounds better than "Progress Bar" does.

[2011-09-07 06:26:06] dlujan28 - *in Michael Jackson ...

*in Michael Jackson voice* That's ignorant. Stop being ignorant. ;)

[2011-09-06 01:51:05] crazyfreshman - @hmahmo: I don't ...

@hmahmo: I don't know how you're arriving at that 90% figure (by component count? cost? importance? etc.), but you should write to the manufacturer(s) of the unsupported components, and use a distro with better driver support. Incidentally, over the years I have had four or five computers on which the current version of Microsoft Windows at that time would not run at all, whereas GNU/Linux would run perfectly. Hexcore, 8GiB RAM, full HDMI, PCIEx16, SATA3Gb/s 1.5 TB hard drive, DVD+-, no problem.

[2011-09-05 21:21:07] hmahmo - USB 3.0 support is ...

USB 3.0 support is a big thing for Linux considering 90% of my current hardware build would go undetected running Ubuntu 11.04.

[2011-09-04 20:07:12] crazyfreshman - @HTHAMMACK1, yep, ...

@HTHAMMACK1, yep, you're 100% correct; there's nothing relevant about GNU/Linux, its record of innovation, the companies that invest time, money, and code into it like Google, IBM, and, yes, even Microsoft. That it runs a vast majority of the world's super computers and cell phones also isn't relevant. That it's Unix(-like), just like Mac OS, also is irrelevant, and let's not forget the irrelevance of libre software that runs Wikipedia and 60%+ of webservers. ...sigh...

[2011-09-04 05:21:22] HTHAMMACK1 - The problem is ...

The problem is nobody cares that Linux had it. It's an irrelevant operating system with less than 1% market share, and no, Android doesn't count.

[2011-09-02 06:37:53] VBEducation1 - that 7

that 7

[2011-08-31 16:26:17] labobo - sigh more bullshit ...

sigh more bullshit from microsoft. it's called a theoretical limit because no one have ever reached it I'm not sure how they came up with this limit but it's bullshit i haven't seen any pc with usb 3 support even coming near this limit it's the same with the sata 6 gb/s limit, not even the fastest ssd can come close to this limit, so why the hell brag about the speed ? f-ing lying PR ppl mostly because of both hardware and driver makers being both cheap and lazy and perhaps even incompetent.

[2011-08-31 08:35:09] KillamonjarowX123 - What's a progress ...

What's a progress bar? I have always called it a "Loading bar" or an "Installation bar" lol.

[2011-08-30 11:38:29] yinge101 - the destination ...

the destination drive is INTERNALSSD because the file transfer is FROM "USB 3.0 BOT" TO "INTERNALSSD" not the other way around

[2011-08-30 00:46:32] nikkopt - Why is the ...

Why is the destination drive called INTERNALSSD? xD wouldn't it be better if it was called EXTERNALUSB3.0? :]

[2011-08-29 16:27:36] CLionheart - This doesn't use ...

This doesn't use the new copy features shown in a later video. But it does look more like the Win7 Explorer interface. Has this been outright replaced by the MS Office look in later videos, or will I be able to customize Explorer's look so that it looks like this again?
