Thanks, but I hit a wall - the thin black strip that you lift to remove the cable popped out and I can't figure out how to put it black in place; not sure what to do at this point. Thanks, though.

Is this necessary?? If yes or no, why? He did not do as good of a job when it came to explaining things unlike you, so there is a lot of skepticism from my end. If you have the time, I would appriciate if you can shed some light on this.Thank you kind regards freddyglaz

[2012-01-13 03:13:42] GadgetMenders - You can remove the ...You can remove the blue rubber side pieces from the old drive and use them with your new one. The padding is not necessary, as the rubber sides prevent the drive from moving around.
[2011-12-17 01:54:38] 2PinkFreuds - Alright, ...Alright, transferred the rubber enforcements ok, but is the padding necessary? Isn't it there to absorb impact?
[2011-12-17 01:50:56] 2PinkFreuds - Hey, I thought I ...Hey, I thought I was doing alright until putting the new hard drive in. The Samsung one I got does not already have the blue sides and light blue padding like the replacement one you use here.
