Nicely done. For those asking which wire is hot or ground just use a simple test light. You can pick one up at your local parts store for 5 bucks. I too have seen the poorly lit trunks but in diffrent models. I'm in the automotive lighting business and I recommend a t10 5 SMD led. T10 is a base model number and 168,194 will work as well. There's a bunch of brightness options to choose from, obviously the more LEDs the better. Just note LED bulbs only go one way, so if it doesn't light up just f

If you don't know how to make the simplest of wiring connections, you shouldn't try this project. All cars are going to have variations in how to make it work for the specific make/model. Solutions range from wire taps, bulb wedging the wires or ghetto fabulous electrical tape. There are many, many ways to make it work. Being a dick isn't one of them.
