Hey everyone, My friend is an aspiring techy and has entered an innovations idea competition. He has a chance to be trained and mentored by tech industry business leaders if his idea is voted into the semi-finals. You can help him reach his dreams. If you can, go to his video at "/watch?v=ukawhPLV3AE" please and give it a thumbs up "Like" as that is how eight semi-finals will be chosen. Thanks!

I believe that science and technology will rule overall and expose religion for what it is today. A money making institution that's used to pimp the masses.

[2011-09-17 20:14:35] septitais - Religion is for ...

Religion is for the weak minded. As long as people fear death, religion will never cease to exist. It really doesnt matter whether people believe in god or not. Whatever makes you feel better about your life- some prefer books, others beliefe in god.

All contrair; I think it will re-enforce the existence of God, string theory, correct or not, or any other theory's that explain creation, evolution and direction all begin and will finally end with God.

[2011-06-14 04:45:33] ThinkTank255 - Being fairly well ...

Being fairly well versed in physics and theoretical physics, I find it very unlikely string theory is correct. It may have some aspects of a correct theory, but the fact that it proposes "branes" seems rather random and unwarranted to me when everything we can observe is a particle. As far as religion, it's dying already, and I doubt it'll be around much longer. I'd wager to say more than 50% of Americans are Atheists and that number is growing rapidly.

[2011-05-22 12:25:04] BadderNgod - Religion is a ...

Religion is a mortal thing for mortals. It won't change much, at all, or very slowly because of science. The reson being is the pratical application of religion is pleasure, and enjoying one's imagination. I don't think proving string theory will change the underlying motive of all life which is the persuit of happiness. some of us enjoy science. To think of god as a human who is the designer shows your inability to grasp the concept of god and nature.

[2011-03-25 13:11:11] sum1unxpected - you are judging ...

you are judging aspects of my character based solely on my rejection of your religious beliefs. that doesn't seem very humble to me. if you want to subscribe to a religion that isn't based on evidence, that's fine with me. I choose not to do so because there are lots of religions which aren't based on evidence, and it's impossible to tell which one of them is true, if any. but regardless of your religious beliefs, i hope you find peace and happiness your own way ^_^

[2011-03-25 12:04:34] michabarnum - Thinking that we ...

Thinking that we can bring the scientific method to understanding God is a fundamental error. If there is a creator of matter, than he is not comprised of matter. Therefore, you can't 'prove' God with the 5 senses and tools made of matter. So the only way for a human to understand God is if they discover the way God has revealed himself. In fact, Christianity teaches God has reveals himself to the humble and hides himself from the wise and proud.

[2011-03-24 15:51:41] sum1unxpected - @michabarnum "The ...

@michabarnum "The general aim of religion is to explain why God did "it", create life" this statement assumes that gods existence has been established, which assumes a clear definition of what god is. so the answer to the question "why did god create life?" remains: 'there is no reason to believe god exists or to believe the statement 'god exist' is a proposition; as no coherent definition of god has ever been established'.

[2011-03-24 12:41:03] sum1unxpected - "The point is, that ...

"The point is, that matter is not conscious, it doesn't care about being a molecule, a cell, an organ, or a living system. There's no reason for matter to randomly form complex structures and become conscious." i can assure you that nobody believes matter randomly formed complex structures and became conscious for no reason. i find it irritating when people assume i hold a position that i don't. if you want to know more about my beliefs, you can ask me about them.

[2011-03-24 12:28:16] sum1unxpected - @michabarnum there ...

@michabarnum there aren't just two scenarios. and once again, if you think the laws of thermodynamics are incompatible with life or abiogenesis, you don't understand the laws of thermodynamics. i suggest you read up on the laws of thermodynamics on a peer reviewed physics journal, or talk to a local physics professor about them. even the wikipedia article on this subject is adequate.

[2011-03-24 03:28:36] michabarnum - So we have two ...

So we have two equally impossible to comprehend scenarios: Either matter formed itself into ever increasingly complex structures that created conscious life for the uber-structure. Or a creator without origin designed it. Neither seems possible, and yet here we are.. If the first scenario is true, then only we can discover it. If the second is true, it is not discoverable by looking at matter and depends on revelation by the creator in the time and manner he chooses.

[2011-03-24 03:24:05] michabarnum - The general aim of ...

The general aim of religion is to explain why God did "it", create life, and how life should respond. It is less concerned with the mechanics of how God did it, which science addresses. The point is, that matter is not conscious, it doesn't care about being a molecule, a cell, an organ, or a living system. There's no reason for matter to randomly form complex structures and become conscious. As I put it, "If ever nothing was, then all would be content to nothing ever be"

[2011-03-23 08:45:07] sum1unxpected - @michabarnum " ...

@michabarnum "Without answering the question of lifes purpose, science cannot substantially address the questions that religion addresses." religion doesn't addresses the question of lifes purpose any better than science does. saying "god did it" without providing a clear definition of what god is doesn't answer any questions at all. "The laws of thermodynamics do not provide any basis for life, especially complex life." you don't understand the laws of thermodynamics.

[2011-03-23 03:26:11] michabarnum - Good topic, ...

Good topic, discovering how the mechanics of matter and life work does not provide answers for why life exists. Without answering the question of lifes purpose, science cannot substantially address the questions that religion addresses. In fact, scientists themselves select one of two general religions, theism or atheism, or simply admit they don't know. The laws of thermodynamics do not provide any basis for life, especially complex life. Not a single organic molecule, let alone cell or

religion is where people belief in something that can not be seen and observe only felt....Have you every try to quantify your feeling for something? the answer would be NO ....you can measure your height but you can not measure your feeling, instead you use word to describe it. Religion is like that! It is abstract. It is a place where your feeling get together with nature. Science in the other hand explains environment but not define where the environment comes from., where is the beginning??

The Religion and Science debate won't go away, mainly because of god and our belief in him, or non belief. I personally don't follow a religion I try to find truths my own way science or both.

[2010-09-25 10:34:53] sum1unxpected - @killer211655 that ...

@killer211655 that isn't necessarily the case. science isn't necessarily incompatible with religion, and if scientists find a theory which has predictive value in the real world that also predicts the existence of a god, then all bets are off. perhaps you should study science, if you are interested. humanity needs innovators more than ever. you could set a good example for other muslims =) "Bring forth your proof if you are truthful" Quran (2:111)

Hi I am Hassan, by religion I am a Muslim and I would say that if something like that happened people will forget the creator of everything......all they would know about is science..

World politics and religions have the same objective. They obey some Brotherhood or priesthood using different means to attain this single' objective. Hence, since the battle in Alantis, the brothers, of Shambhala have led the spiritual elite to build diverse world empires. ~ love and nothing else as love. As we all, Ya, as we all ~

[2010-07-29 00:19:33] cosmic3rdeye - When we use our ...

When we use our common sense then we can understand that primitive man created the so called word of god, because primitive man want you to believe that he was sitting down with a so called god in an interview like a news reporter taking notes from his so called god, that's why all religion want you to BELIEVE with out any proof, but scientists are fact finders (A piece of information about circumstances that exist or events that have occurred) So remember.
