Sure the electronic controls are convenient, but that increases the chance of fire. That said most of the problem is the cheap imports from China, Taiwan ETC... Even a lot of your once high quality USA made name brands are now made overseas and are just like everyone else's device internally with maybe a little different styling and different name on the device.
