Hi, I also like the theme of the LEDs, I'm doing several things ... If you can see on my channel, you can also see a bathroom illuminated with LEDs. Regards and thanks in advance

This is incorrect. You are referring to welding. When soldering, you are in fact using the solder to bring to metal contacts together, otherwise you would be "welding".

This is so awesome! I can't wait to build one, thanks for the great vids! Would it be easy to wire this up for AC though? I need to be able to plug mine into the wall. Love it!

CLOSE UPS PLEASE!

@TheEvilMonkeyMan p.s. dip your wire in the flux before tinning it also.

go to Radio Shack and get yourself a new tip and some tinning flux, you should ALWAYS tin your irons tip!

Hey, I've been trying to solder a molex (computer) power connector onto my LED strip and the solder refuses to adhere to the wire. I also couldn't "tin" the wire because it's like the solder is repelled. Do you know why this is?

Thank you so much mr. I learned a very clever way on how to solder LED in particular :) which was confusing me for a while.

did u or anyone find out how to put the battery, dimmer, speed, etc together???

That was a great video on soldering the strips together. What I would like to see is how to connect the other components like the battery and brushed speed controllers. Is there a part three to this that I am missing? Please let me know. Thanks for sharing!

I apologize. I mean no disrespect. I was only helping another user, but I have not worked with LED strips; just circuit boards so I have none to demonstrate with unless I can dig up some scrap from work. Can't describe it in <400chars either. As a quick gist though, you're using too much solder and not heating the pad/wire anywhere near enough. The idea is not to use the solder to bridge the connection. It's to fuse the 2 connection points together.

[2011-10-19 03:43:25] DTapeProductions - We actually use ...

We actually use these LEDs on our R/C planes for night flying. This is the way that everyone I know solders them. However, if there is a better way to do this, I would really like to see how it is done. Any chance you could do a video? Thanks!

[2011-10-18 23:03:57] Vew82 - I was sent here ...

I was sent here from someone trying to make their LEDs work. What you taught to everyone was how to make a cold solder joint, which is not correct. It will just lead to a poor connection and a higher chance of breaking the wire off during handling. I would not dab that much solder on the pad. The soldering iron also needs to spend a lot more time on the pad/wire to ensure it fuses together.

Yes, that will work. It is the exact one that I used.

I see a big price difference regarding Brushed Speed Controllers. From $5 to $80. Will this work: Turnigy 20A BRUSHED ESC - Spec. Cont Current: 20A Burst Current: 25A BEC Mode: 5v/1A Lipo Cells: 2-3 NiMH : 4-10 Weight: 17g Size: 45x21x8mm FOR USE WITH BURSHED MOTORS ONLY. WILL NOT WORK WITH BRUSHLESS MOTORS Thanks!

Thanks for shareing this info guys, however, I never used a brushed speed controler or a servo adjuster and I don't know how to wire them. Could you maybe do a video and include this info too? Thanks!
