ai's are our future.
[2012-05-15 18:39:56] koolanator - (continued...) So, ...(continued...) So, the problem of A.I. isn't one of not having enough processing power or memory. (Our computers have more than enough capacity) it's a problem of representing and processing the given information in a useful way. There's too much to describe at this point, so I will simply point you in the right direction. Search Jeff Hawkins Artificial Intelligence, there are many good lectures .
[2012-05-15 17:55:12] koolanator - (continued...) A.I. ...(continued...) A.I. is not subject to Moore's law as the problem is not computer complexity. The human brain is very slow in comparison to a computer yet it is able to perform very difficult tasks very quickly. For example, recognizing the difference between cats and dogs, this is a problem which cannot be performed by conventional computer, yet the human brain can perform the task in approx. 200 steps/operations. [2012-05-15 17:41:04] koolanator - Not really... it ...Not really... it depends on what you define as intelligent. If it's simply the process of understanding - then A.I. is no more dangerous than a toaster oven. If you're worried about Self aware machines that worry about their own well being, then that's a different question. In fact, I think this is one of the few times that I must disagree with Kaku. A.I.? I give it 10, maybe 15 more years before we have an intelligent machine. (...continued)
[2012-05-12 21:25:53] Laguy211 - AI is beneficial ...AI is beneficial but it's also dangerous
[2012-05-12 05:02:53] ProfCantonius - Let me introduce ...Let me introduce you to my battlebot
[2012-05-07 02:39:35] Causalityband - @mastermindmusic01 ...@mastermindmusic01 When the computer beats you at chess that's it's programming. He's talking about actual thought. They can't think on their own yet.
[2012-05-04 18:46:30] HyperboricPhil - lets give it a body ...lets give it a body of Iron, Aluminium and carbon fiber and you'll be a leg short
[2012-04-27 19:57:44] mastermindmusic01 - ok, so this ...ok, so this cockroach is better then me at chess every time?
[2012-04-21 21:36:59] mcm1024 - We have met the ...We have met the limits he is talking about but now we are just putting more cores on CPUs and improving the architecture. I guess he didn't think about this.
[2012-04-18 20:11:21] oamaach - well it has been ...well it has been almost 15 years since this video was made, and we haven't seen any of the stuff you re talking about...
[2012-04-18 06:48:57] johnkimdy - It would be better ...It would be better if you don't even make it
[2012-04-17 18:17:50] Romanov117 - Make Cortana LOL!Make Cortana LOL!
[2012-04-10 21:29:08] TIBERIUSEWOLF - - COMMENT - I ...- COMMENT - I don't want a chip on my head. indeed i would prefer a quantum computer-helmet LOL :P
[2012-04-10 21:10:50] TIBERIUSEWOLF - The video was of 10 ...The video was of 10-15 years ago, see at 00:28. Is/was normal that he make some errors. Indeed unfortunately quantum physics exist just since 2007.
[2012-04-06 21:41:50] YouLoveMrFriendly - 9 more years :P ...9 more years :P This was filmed in 2001, as the show ended in 2005, and that "quantum calculation" Michio mentions was performed in 2001.
[2012-04-03 10:31:54] alfredsparkle - We have just ...We have just launched the new update for the first voice assisted app using Wolfram Alpha on Android. You can now also search for nearby places, such as the closest place to find Italian food, and it will point them out. Get it here:play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.proxy.voiceanswer
[2012-04-02 23:04:26] J2897Tutorials - We will be the ...We will be the robots. Our brains will be upgraded. When we think of a big calculation, the digital section of our brain will compute the answer extremely quickly. There will be no need for a keyboard nor a screen.
[2012-04-01 08:39:56] missionarymayn - or...give the ...or...give the robots a 4-year life-span like in the 1983 Sci-Fi movie "BladeRunner"
[2012-03-31 10:42:19] MrSilentpredator - LOL @ an uppity ...LOL @ an uppity robot..
[2012-03-30 05:29:00] greatwhitenorth112 - indeedindeed
[2012-03-27 20:45:06] MZZenyl - Retarded roaches. ...Retarded roaches. That makes my old cell phone what? As smart as a cut-off rat tail? ;P
[2012-03-27 20:16:41] glanemann - Well the video was ...Well the video was uploaded in 2007. I think the video is probably late 90's early 2000's.
[2012-03-25 00:55:40] m0hawk1dwarf - A computer once ...A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
[2012-03-22 22:47:05] tonyvspaulfreak - @greatwhitenorth112 ...@greatwhitenorth112 in the words of Michio Kaku, "Don't hold your breath"
[2012-03-18 14:38:33] yellowklayman - Do it the like i do ...Do it the like i do, instead of making microchips better, connect dozen them together.
[2012-03-17 09:16:31] kawigwapo - dude, this was ...dude, this was recorded long time ago
[2012-03-08 22:42:57] josseppie - He is soooo wrong. ...He is soooo wrong. Intel came out with a new computer chip that is 3 dimensional and that allow Mores law to continue for years to come.
[2012-03-06 07:33:52] mgillett14 - Wouldn't you think ...Wouldn't you think that the robots would learn about this "Asimov Chip" and find a way around it?
[2012-02-25 23:09:35] Xenctuary - Will I be able to ...Will I be able to play Solitaire on a quantum computer?
[2012-02-25 10:22:25] MyGta123 - wow i thought that ...wow i thought that stuff was a thing of the past
[2012-02-22 19:02:18] GenNormanSheiskoph - Is this guy ...Is this guy broadcasting from his BASEMENT? LOL! I feel embarrassed for Professor Kaku.
