[2011-12-25 04:55:13] TheMeslava - @drumdude46 And by ...@drumdude46 And by drift correction, they mean "navigation" correction for the wind by reference to stuff, not the regular aileron/rudder correction you normally apply on takeoff. I hope that clears up any confusion.
[2011-12-25 04:54:21] TheMeslava - @drumdude46 I have ...@drumdude46 I have your answer. The reason why you want to maintain the runway heading as it is in "Mag" is because they don't care about wind correction. Basically, you just need to keep "trying" to fly at the heading for the runway you are cleared for, and as you move the wind will be changing where you are, but you are on Radar remember, they know where you are. It's not a precise science, as long as you are maintaining that runway heading, it's not THAT much of a difference.

[2011-11-18 10:23:39] drumdude46 - @ 4:20, a takeoff ...@ 4:20, a takeoff clearance is given for "Rwy Hdg".....etc.... we are then informed to NOT apply any drift correction after takeoff, to seemingly keep us in line with the actual runway hdg behind us?? i'm not understanding this? how can we then maintain an actual, correct rwy hdg, if the wind is blowing us right or left, and Rob Reider says, "no drift correction?" anyone? thanks...
