Man-made wireless transmission of electric energy has been trivial since the invention of the transformer, really, although usually with close proximity of the coils for increased efficiency, with a magnetically permeable core to further increase the efficiency. Wires in some form are used anyway, even for an antenna. Just picking at details a bit ^^
