[2012-02-27 03:54:05] livetechaustralia - You are a wise man ...You are a wise man buying a Buffalo HDD. I myself just got another one as a double backup.
[2012-02-27 02:58:47] chee006 - OMG I am so glad I ...OMG I am so glad I bought this instead of stupid WD which is more expensive and isn't shock proof, I too own a WD 3.5 external hard drive (needs a separate plug to function) and I also experience the same frustrating problem that if you touch the the hard drive or if you knock the table the stupid thing just ejects itself really frustrating especially because it is the most expensive hard drive , so lesson is get buffalo instead of WD.
[2012-02-25 09:58:22] livetechaustralia - Yes there is. Plug ...Yes there is. Plug it into you mac. Make sure there is nothing valuable on it. Go to Disk Utility, click on the hard drive and format it as "MS-DOS (FAT). Then it should be able to work on both PC & Mac. Let us know how you go.
[2012-02-25 09:56:36] livetechaustralia - Thanks. We will ...Thanks. We will take that into consideration.
[2012-02-24 10:50:00] darojobe - i bought this hdd ...i bought this hdd and it looks great. however i plugged it into a PC first and now the files only apoear as a read-only on my Mac. Is there anyway around this as i need to store a ton of files from my Mac onto it?
[2012-02-24 09:22:23] Dolcecinnamon - thanks for the ...thanks for the review, but you dropped it on carpet -.- try dropping it on wooden floor or concrete
[2012-02-20 09:56:16] livetechaustralia - Your welcome. I ...Your welcome. I love their hard drives. I just got another one as an extra backup the other day.
[2012-02-20 09:55:08] Angelasalveru - you did a good job ...you did a good job telling us about the difference between hard drives and because of your review I am going to buy a buffalo hard drive. Thanks so much keep up the good work!
[2011-11-16 15:12:25] BlackSunDarkStar - The WD10TPVT has 3 ...The WD10TPVT has 3 platters so its height is 12.5 mm compared to the standard 2 platter notebook drive which are 9.5 mm. However it can still be squeezed into the flimsy drive bay of an HP dv8. Had been hoping it was something like the WD10JPVT which is a 2 platter drive.
[2011-11-16 14:00:17] livetechaustralia - i should fit into ...i should fit into your notebook since it is a 2.5" drive. Usually desktop drives are 3.5".
[2011-11-16 12:36:08] BlackSunDarkStar - OK I've just ...OK I've just cracked open a brand new Buffalo 1TB Ministation (Small Chassis) version. Inside is a Western Digital WD10TPVT manufactured on Sep 1 2011. Problem I was hoping to mount this 1TB into my notebook drive bay but its probably too thick.
[2011-11-16 12:16:42] livetechaustralia - No I have not. I am ...No I have not. I am keeping it incase I need it as a backup one day.
[2011-11-16 12:07:21] BlackSunDarkStar - Looks like the WD ...Looks like the WD needs a new cable or you have some bent pins in the socket. So have you cracked open the Buffalo case yet to see who manufactured the drive?
[2011-10-20 10:06:04] EargasmicDubstep - hahaha loved the ...hahaha loved the cough western digital.. they are so shit... but i agree with @danman2011
[2011-09-09 08:25:43] danmax2011 - you did not show ...you did not show the whole picture of the fall scene... im not saying you are faking it but other products can also do that bounce thing if they wanna show how shock proof the product is. can you be more specific on how tall the fall is? and can you show the whole picture? thanks!
[2011-08-23 05:38:58] livetechaustralia - Good luck. Im sure ...Good luck. Im sure you wont regret this purchase.
[2011-08-23 05:35:30] kirby570 - Good. My old one ...Good. My old one was old and bulky and broke a while ago so in the morning I was going to order a new one. I am glad that you responded so quickly, now I know which model to buy :)
[2011-08-23 05:22:51] livetechaustralia - Yes it is the plus ...Yes it is the plus model. I can defiantly vouch for it and say that I have only had good experiences with it so far. If your looking for something fast and durable then this it for you.
[2011-08-23 05:01:54] kirby570 - Is this the "plus" ...Is this the "plus" model? If not, do you have any experience with it and is it a good buy?
[2011-08-10 21:09:32] MrAJtech - so did i...until i ...so did i...until i opened the box
[2011-08-10 11:36:21] livetechaustralia - Interesting..all ...Interesting..all this time I was lead to believe that LaCie was great.
[2011-08-10 07:58:46] MrAJtech - disk also ejects on ...disk also ejects on my lacie hard drive, its so annoying and then it takes about 20 minutes to reconnect
[2011-08-10 07:27:35] livetechaustralia - Good so its not ...Good so its not just me
[2011-08-10 07:13:01] zap1pow2boom3 - I have that same WD ...I have that same WD hdd. It's for movies and stuff, when I'm using it in bed or something and I move it disconnects and I have to find what bit of the movie I'm up to....it's a pain.
[2011-08-10 05:13:46] livetechaustralia - I would recommend ...I would recommend Buffalo, Imation, Seagate or even LaCie. I wouldn't really trust WD after my experience buy hey....thats just my opinion.
[2011-08-10 04:37:46] holdencommstra - the Buffalo is ...the Buffalo is still mechanical right not SDD.the Western digital you have is an elements model.that is so cheap they cost around $38 for 320gb(Dis) 500gb $48(Dis) 1TB $78 (still in pro).i'm getting a Seagate Freeagent 2tb.what do you think.Seagate,Western Digital,HP,Buffalo or Samsung.which is the best brand for HD's.
[2011-08-09 23:07:23] livetechaustralia - exactly :)exactly :)
[2011-08-09 23:06:15] kos37ter96 - I may have to look ...I may have to look into getting this hard drive. Looks rugged enough to with stand anything accidental. The fast speed is an added bonus for those of us who don't like waiting. haha :)
