[2011-12-07 07:35:31] sujaysukumar123 - - 6) pizza may be ...- 6) pizza may be Italian, just like English is frm England. But if u accept Australian, S African nd US English, then pizza is vry much American too. Again. I'm not claiming everything that passes through India is Indian.India has contributed immensley to the English that you speak, in terms of Etymology and literary works. The Anglo Indians have English as their spoken Language. So, if Australian, American and South African english is acceptable, I dont see why Indian English is not.
[2011-12-07 07:21:12] sujaysukumar123 - - 5) Biryani is an ...- 5) Biryani is an Indian dish, sorry to disappoint you, please google it. There are so many variants too Veg Biryani, Hyderabdai Biryani, Lucknowi Biryani etc. No, noodles, pizza and thai are not Indian dishes - because these foods haven't yet become part of the Indian culture. I'm not claiming everything that passes through India is Indian.
[2011-12-07 07:11:29] sujaysukumar123 - - Every form of ...- Every form of Christianity is diverse, some say Mary is divine some dont, Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Syrians, Coptics etc etc all have their own flavours of the religion, but every christian claims to be praying to the same Jesus of Nazreth. Similary, the US, India and Australia have different accents, but it's all English. I cant break the analogy down any further, I really hope you get it.
[2011-12-07 07:07:47] sujaysukumar123 - - 1) It's upto a ...- 1) It's upto a nation to adopt a language, if Indians didn't adopt German its just their choice. 2) Most of the world doesn't speak English in any particular way, so if one were to go with numbers, INDIAN way is far more favourable in comparison to Australian or South African. 3) what question are u expecting an answer for?
[2011-12-07 07:03:08] sujaysukumar123 - - First of all i ...- First of all i suggest you google this List_of_English_words_of_Indian_origin. You probably use most of these INDIAN words in your English, and yet you take objection to accepting that English is as much Indian as it is Australian, South African or American.
[2011-12-06 02:30:50] jamkabi - That little pygmy ...That little pygmy thing is so cool
[2011-12-01 19:13:51] Ko252 - @sujaysukumar123 ( ...@sujaysukumar123 (conti.) 4) Whether he accepts is or not, isnt of any importance. Further on, your analogy (as all other you have made), is faulty. If this Christian translation of the Bible diverse significantly from the original, than it isnt the same GOD. 5) Regardless of biryani being a houshold dish in India; it doesnt make it an Indian dish. Following your logic; then noodles, pizza, thai should all be Indian dishes as well. 6) And pizza is Italian.
[2011-12-01 19:03:30] Ko252 - I find it quite ...I find it quite amusing, that you criticize my poor grammar, as you put it, while making illogical assertions yourself. 1) "Movable property". The same applies for german; will you define an Indian dialect for that as well? 2) "...second largest..." Still, most of the world doesnt speak Enligsh in the same manner as the average Indian. 3) "Englisth is ..." First of all, you didnt answer the question. And second, based on what? You are just making a groundless and weak assertion.
[2011-12-01 05:45:05] sujaysukumar123 - - "What puzzles me, ...- "What puzzles me, is why you want to adapt somebody else's language, when you have a grea one yourself. " - English is very much Indian. If I told a European Christian why he was praying to Jesus, who was someone else's God (middle eastern), would he accept it? The mughals brought biryani to India, and now its a household dish here. The italians brought pizza to America. Similarly the British brought English to India, but now it's very much Indian.
[2011-12-01 05:28:18] sujaysukumar123 - - Haha, so what if ...- Haha, so what if the settlers left? They cant take back their English, its not movable property you know. India is the second largest English speaking nation in terms of population after the US. What puzzles me is why her accent should matter to you, when your own grammar is quite visibly poor.
[2011-11-30 17:39:08] Ko252 - Wrong. Enligsh ...Wrong. Enligsh wasnt brought to India the same way as in the USA and Australia, since they would imply they actually settled into country, and with most of today's population being successors of these. That isnt the case in India. They settled, but then left, remember (1947). Further on, maximum number of Enligsh speaker doesnt speak as her, so your analogy is fail. What puzzles me, is why you want to adapt somebody else's language, when you have a grea one yourself.
[2011-11-28 22:30:51] TheCooler13 - I KNOW RITE WHAT A ...I KNOW RITE WHAT A RACIST BASTERD
[2011-11-24 04:40:46] bioknock - People who have ...People who have such knowledge and creativity are very rare to come across and luckily TedTalks has made it available for all of us to get Inspired and work on and Bring change rather than worrying on ACCENTS
[2011-11-24 04:35:24] bioknock - her Inner Age is ...her Inner Age is Definitely a lot less than her Actual Age
[2011-11-24 04:30:09] bioknock - She shud B working ...She shud B working in APPLE's R&D

[2011-11-22 17:37:04] VoiceOfAleppo - fucking uncles .... ...fucking uncles .... LOL
[2011-11-22 07:31:48] sujaysukumar123 - - Hindi is the ...- Hindi is the official language of the Indian government, with English being subsidiary - thanks for the info. My point being English is among the 2 official languages in India, which makes English very much an accepted and spoken language of the country. Obama, Bill Gates and Aparna Rao speak english with their respective accents. The british invaders brought English to USA and to India. So why do you treat Aparna Rao's accent differently? Skin color (or is it colour) perhaps?
[2011-11-22 07:22:06] sujaysukumar123 - - "I speak Hindi ...- "I speak Hindi with a foreign accent (not intended, though), does it mean I have the correct pronounciation?" If maximum number of Hindi speakers spoke the way you spoke, then thats the way to speak it. English is "foreign" to every nation outside England. English was brought to other lands by British settlers and Invaders, it was brought to India, USA and Australia in the same way. But most of us accept the american english now without problems.
[2011-11-21 20:44:25] leconfidant - It's so nice to see ...It's so nice to see technology being developed in terms of emotional and social connection instead of military and economic efficiency. I do hope this kind of work continues. Thinking about it, early technology's biggest landmarks - stonehenge, the pyramids, the lasceaux caves - were all artistic / religious projects. The posters who debated her accent had nothing to offer about using artistic goals to lead technology - please take it to an ESL website, it's irrelevant and inapropriate.
[2011-11-21 18:31:20] Ko252 - Hindi is the ...Hindi is the official language of the Indian government, with English being subsidiary. Further on, I speak Hindi with a foreign accent (not intended, though), does it mean I have the correct pronounciation?

[2011-11-17 23:46:44] bioknock - Rather than ...Rather than appreciating her Art the whole Discussion seems to revolve around her Accent .... The speakers on TED aren't just some Hilly billies, they are highly qualified and most of them have dedicated their whole lives specializing on a Specific field . I found Aparna Rao's Art to be really good!

[2011-11-14 01:12:54] manonthemount - i agree with you ...i agree with you except for the typical indian voice intonation, up down up down up down as if every other word is a question. it's not a particularly hard thing to correct if you're actually speaking proper english
[2011-11-13 21:43:24] sylvur - I can't wait for ...I can't wait for our museums to be filled with these kinds of new "technology" art! Oldschool art is kinda getting boring... and in many cases, people abuse the old system (With cheap "abstract" art that no one likes or a child could do blind folded) Like this is a bit "abstract", but at least it shows that the artists put effort in their work! Some abstract artists are just plain BAD and do not deserve to have their work posted in museums or anywhere!
[2011-11-13 12:00:50] nUrface777 - The teddy bear ...The teddy bear acutally worked I paused the video and kinda didnt completely focus on the shape

[2011-11-11 23:19:32] dominicsalles - Hi Pinky, I imagine ...Hi Pinky, I imagine you post in order to complain, although your ellipsis means it could be read entirely in support of my "useful and superior" activities. Apologies if you were not intending to patronise me. Since you ask, yesterday my class were taught by a national prizewinning poet I used to teach; I put a 16 year old pupil suffering from ME in contact with an ex pupil, suffering from the same, but now at university...making a difference. I also teach. You?
