He isn't giving it ALL away, just most of it. If I were him, I would start a company(S), hire people that need jobs, help fund more people to get an education, which puts the money back into the system. I would just do it maybe a little differently. Obviously, I would have a little fun along the way. I would also help certain non-profits that help crime victims, especially those that were victimized by lay offs by wealthy companies that didn't have to lay people off.

He probably won't be able to give it all away during his lifetime, since if he sold off all of his shares of Microsoft, Microsoft stock price would probably go down about 35 to 40%, but he only liquidates a small portion of it, plus he gets dividends as well. He is doing what guilty rich people do. GIve money away to get attention and a tax write off because how they got the money and the amount for which they got.
