what about copying 1000 small files? is there a difference if you use slow external drive, for example 5400rpm? is not it bottleneck for usb 3.0 speed?

[2012-04-09 05:27:05] Burnitnow567 - I know it looks ...

I know it looks biased, same specs would have been more trusted, but from personal experience, USB3 v USB2 is like comparing SSD v HDD, the difference is enormous.

Should of used TeraCopy! I FREAKING love that program! I used it back with Windows XP because it doesn't show the transfer rate on xp. And they just added a new feature where you can have the USB drive ejected automatically once the transfer is complete. I freaking love it! And i'll bet the files would of transferred faster!

yes and no, a 2.5" drive can be slower due to the fact it wont spin as fast, also the 2.5" drive could only have SATA1.5 and the 3.5" drive use SATA3, this would all effect speed of the drive and speed of the transfer

[2011-10-06 02:14:18] kentokae - How dumb is it to ...

How dumb is it to install a recently discarded Laptop HDD into an external enclosure when it is still in working condition because you replaced either the laptop or the HDD with a faster/larger HDD or a SDD? That is thrifty and smart IMHO instead of buying an entire external storage device for $100-$200 when a $10-40 Enclosure for an existing HDD would suffice.

Wrong most 2.5" are laptop HDD bays all SDD on the other hands are made for 2.5" form factor but most 2.5" storage are 5400 RPM HDDs as SDD is still too expensive to catch on

[2011-10-06 01:25:14] alskdjfalskdjfasdfas - most 2.5's are SSD ...

most 2.5's are SSD bays...

[2011-10-06 01:09:06] imraanLQ4ever - ...The size has ...

...The size has nothing to do with the speed...The only speed difference would be the RPM, if one was 5400RPM while the other was 7200RPM, then it would have been unfair :)
