Hello, Yes we have the 10 amp power supplies. The batteries need to be 12v for the strip to light up. You can do this with a 12v battery pack using AA batteries, but you would only be able to run a few feet of strip light. ou can also use a 12v battery used for marine or vehicles...What length do you want?

[2012-04-27 19:53:41] DDGAdams - Yeah, Roger that ...Yeah, Roger that too. I meant to mention that before the tape statement, forgot about it by then. That's why plugs are polarized so you can't plug them in backwards (unless you really work at it. They need to be improved so that it's impossible).
[2012-04-27 16:55:53] EdWatts - Likewise, the "L" ...Likewise, the "L" and "N" terminals on the power supply, while technically interchangeable, are different. Good electrical practice dictates that the "N" terminal should be connected to the wire which goes to the wider prong on the plug; the narrow prong should go to the "L" terminal. A third wire (safety ground) should go from the "G" terminal to the round pin on the plug; a three-wire cord/plug is highly recommended with a metal-cased device.

[2012-04-26 01:46:00] DDGAdams - You may have a ...You may have a perfectly good product. Your video would place a layman in harms way. You should re-do it. 1. The AC cord should be shipped with the plug enclosed in a box warning not to plug it in. 2. After attaching the AC leads to the transformer the screws are still exposed. Household current is LETHAL. The screws MUST be enclosed before testing. 3.Tape-only is a poor way to make a permanent connection. Need wire nuts or some other mechanical device or solder with shrink tube.

[2012-04-15 18:25:44] flexfireinfo - While you are ...While you are correct a simple power supply from radio shack can turn on your lights there are a few things you have to ensure before just hooking up a 120v to 12v transformer. Is the output regulated? And is it current or voltage regulated? What is your ripple and noise rating? how is short circuit protection set up? Does it have short circuit protection? Over load protection? LED lights have special needs. Flexfireleds carries power supplies that meet these needs.
[2012-04-15 02:29:45] semicolanparenthese - seems like a simple ...seems like a simple 120v to 12v dc transformer from radio shack could have done the same job.

[2012-01-12 13:46:57] flexfireinfo - RGB strip lights ...RGB strip lights need to be ran through a controller. We have a video titled Mini-XR RGB Controller. This video shows the remote and how it is hooked up. The for plastic housing transformers, they easily connect to the RGB remote with a DC solderless connector. The other end of the remote has terminals that you can screw in the different wires of the RGB solderless connector that then connects to the strip lights. Shoot us an email or message for a drawn sketch.
