[2012-04-26 07:42:37] hingamp - so I'm an idiot: ...

so I'm an idiot: nuclear power is great to treat cancers that have been created by its developement ! who's the idiot here? weapons are great: oh yes let's play another Nagazaki, it solves everything doesn't it? let's leave Tchernobyl leak into the water reserves below with an industry that does not know how to control and master. See Fukushima in the most advanced country in the world where total chaos has spread all over the country and changed it for generations. Even fish is contaminated.

[2012-04-26 07:28:30] xxeerroee - Its a steel cover, ...

Its a steel cover, and yes holes in it russian government is going through plans now for the dome that will last 200, be realistic with risk comes reward what would we do today if not for the discovery of nucleur power, cars, weapons, drugs alchohol or even electricity everything has the power to kill you. and if it weren't for nucleur power we wouldn't be anywhere near curing cancer knowing as much as we do today, without weapons we would of not made it thru the stone age... idiot

[2012-04-26 07:22:11] hingamp - you do not know and ...

you do not know and the main problem with Tchernobyl is that we all know it has killed people, is slowly killing and damaging population's health for the next 50 generations. And today the concrete cover is cracking over a reactor which is unfortunately still active after 20 yrs. I say: let's stop any device that can kill human being. We are intelligent enough to developpe all other harmless sources. End of debate.

[2012-04-26 02:00:24] xxeerroee - Inflate statistics ...

Inflate statistics much, 30 km zone, 500 000 exaced no proof the retards are direct cause of chenobyl, inflated cancer numbers inflated death total

[2012-04-26 01:50:20] RagedContinuum - uhm that's in ...

uhm that's in theory. Breeders have not been proven as viable. Same with the cultist fantasies about molten salt reactors. I'm open to running pilot programs asap, but I'm not expecting results that will pan out. I think small modular reactors or at the very least smaller sized higher safety styled reactors are the best way to proceed.. but nuclear will probably be more trouble and cost than it is worth over time

[2012-04-25 18:40:29] bum291 - The waste can be ...

The waste can be significantly reduced in breeder reactors (fast neutron reactors), but they are highly unpopular in many parts of the world, in the US, multiple-fuel cycle is banned and thus also the use of breeder reactors. It could also be reduced using particle accelerators, but that would spend many times the energi it had created in the first place so that is not feasable.

[2012-04-22 12:32:54] ArmandDaniel97 - to save europe you ...

to save europe you dumb fuck . without them the shelter could not be build because of highly radiation . and as you heard, they reduced the radiation by 30%

[2012-04-10 23:45:04] JACKASS2267 - shut the fuck up ...

shut the fuck up dumb shit!!!!!!!!!

[2012-04-08 09:20:53] RagedContinuum - unfortunately ...

unfortunately humans dont work that way. Some brownouts will change attitudes and nukes will become fashionable again. I think there will be many more meltdowns in the future because of maintaining old reactors instead of at least building new ones.. and don't forget that there's no real way to store the waste long term (1000000s of years)

[2012-04-02 05:35:37] ArchiveRock - Moron! They were ...

Moron! They were forced to do it.

[2012-04-01 07:01:15] hingamp - It it was so safe, ...

It it was so safe, would it have killed 150,000 people, created more than 100,000 cancers, 40,000 mongol children and still contaminates water today very badly, created a 300kms no man land, displaced 1.5 Million people? Are you a retard or have shares in EDF ?

[2012-04-01 00:45:28] nerfbuz - Nuclear energy is ...

Nuclear energy is extremely efficient it is just that the test at the CNPP was handled badly.

[2012-03-27 01:21:24] TheBic4 - because it was for ...

because it was for a greater good other than money it was to save half of russia from deadly radiation released from the reactors

[2012-03-23 06:09:50] minsmama - a true hero, you ...

a true hero, you insensitive moron

[2012-03-23 06:09:24] minsmama - The authorities ...

The authorities really didn't have much choice, lacking the technology we have today. The only other option was to let it continue to belch radiation which would have been a much bigger crime. However, I completely agree with you that nuclear energy should be gone. These men are truly heroes the likes of which are rare. RIP to all of them who died truly saving the rest of the world.

[2012-03-18 22:01:45] hingamp - it's a disgrace ...

it's a disgrace that authorities let these guys go in. It's crime against humanity and must never never happen again. We must simply DROP this form of energy once and for all.

[2012-03-17 02:27:35] toro74449 - haha what kind of ...

haha what kind of dumbass would go up there and knowingly expose themselves to rediculous amounts of radiation for the equivelant of $100 and a certificate

Robots are affected by radiation too? really?

[2011-10-17 07:13:37] themocaw - There were guys in ...

There were guys in lead-shielded bulldozers on the ground pushing the debris into giant pits. The problem was that there was too much debris on the roof to safely build the protective concrete sarcophagus around the reactor. . . so they needed to push the debris onto the ground where the bulldozers could bury them. They tried robots. They broke down. . . so Russia did what they do when all else fails. They turned to their men.
