Fascinating research! The question this raises in my mind is, are the stem cells only rectifying whatever genetic damage is bred into these mice to cause progeria, or will they actually confer similar longevity in normally aged mice? Also, apparently the dysfunction stem cells were discovered in the mice with progeria. Are stem cells similarly dysfunctional in normally aged mice?
